No Second Thoughts on Getting the Hospitality Jobs
It has been a hot item in recent years: unemployment in the Netherlands and the often highly educated people who have lost their jobs because of the crisis.
Set out for yourself what your qualities are. What are you good at (during work, but also in general) and which functions would suit you? You are often inclined to look at what you like, but looking at your qualities often offers you new perspectives.
Your CV is often first viewed when you apply for a job. Therefore, make sure that your CV stands out and at a glance gives you a good picture of who you are and what you can do. Avoid spelling mistakes and make the look of your CV as attractive as possible, but stay businesslike. The very best Hospitality Jobs in Brisbane you can look for are here.
A good way to gain more insight into yourself: ask others (good friends, colleagues) to put a short description of you on paper. What do they see as your strengths and qualities and in which role do you best come to your right? Make a brief summary of this and definitely include it in your resume!
LinkedIn is pre-eminently the means to use your business network in your search for a new job. For example, approach valuable people from your network and tell them that you are looking for a new job. You will also find a lot of vacancies on LinkedIn. Check immediately if you do not already know someone at the company, maybe he or she can do a good job for you. Do you want to know more about LinkedIn? Read our blog here.
You may, however, impose limitations on yourself by looking for your new job within a particular sector. After all, you know the products or services well and you know what developments there are in the market. Yet it is really not bad to look at your opportunities in another industry. This often results in surprising possibilities!
Outside of LinkedIn you can also use other social media channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. Follow the companies that appeal to you on these channels and take your chance when you come across an interesting vacancy. An open application based on a cool social media post is of course always an option!
Put yourself an elevator pitch on paper. Make sure that you can tell who you are, what you are looking for and why, at any time in no more than 30 seconds. You never know who you meet at that one party and you can only make a good first impression once.
